JANUARY PROGRAM

"How to Get Your Books into Libraries" with guest speakers Nancy Clark and Rachel Ayers

When: Wednesday, January 22. 6pm - 7:30pm

Where: Loussac Library, Moose Room 2nd Floor

Cost: Free

Do you ever wonder how books are chosen for libraries? Who makes those decisions? How are books purchased? And most importantly, how can you as an author get libraries to buy YOUR books? In this program, expert local librarians Nancy Clark and Rachel Ayers will walk attendees through the library book-buying process, from decision to purchasing.

Nancy Clark has worked for Anchorage Public Library for almost 27 years, most recently as manager of the Chugiak-Eagle River Branch. In that time, she also selected adult fiction and genre fiction as APL’s once-and-only readers’ advisory librarian. She is a lifelong Alaskan, romance writer, and Chicago White Sox fan who lives with two teens and three cats.

Rachel Ayers lives in Alaska, where she works as a librarian, looks at mountains, and daydreams a lot. She has a Creative Writing degree from Pittsburg State University and an MLIS from Emporia State University.
