The Alaska Writers Guild is set for a fantastic 2015 conference featuring nationally acclaimed editors, agents, and authors, as well as local authors and illustrators. Once again the conference will also offer a children's literature and illustration track in conjunction with The Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.

This year's conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska. Morning coffee and refreshments and lunches are also included.
The conference also offers:

A Saturday Evening Awards Banquet to honor scholarship winners, the AWG Writer of the Year, Most Promising Manuscript recipients, and winners of the Juried Illustrator Showcase. This will be one of the premier events of the conference, so don't miss out!

Friday Optional Intensives
3-hour intensive workshops offer a more in-depth experience with faculty on a specific subject. Bring your manuscript or portfolio and be ready to write, draw, or both!

- Afternoon Middle Grade and Young Adult Intensive with agent Danielle Smith
- Afternoon Author Intensive with bestselling author Steven James
- Afternoon e-Publishing Intensive with Mark Coker of Smashwords

Manuscript Reviews (CLOSED)
Manuscript reviews for the first 10 pages of your manuscript, in addition to an optional one-page query letter or synopsis, are also available. Critiques are presented in a face-to-face format during the conference. All submitted manuscripts are eligible to be nominated for a "Most Promising Manuscript" Award, as designated by critiquing faculty. Attendees have the option of signing up for multiple manuscript reviews. Available slots for manuscript reviews sell out quickly, so be sure to sign up early!
